Trust starts with provenance
Data Sources & Methodology
ClubLitty separates ordinary place facts from nightlife-specific intelligence. Every production surface should make that boundary visible.
Google reference layer
ClubLitty uses Autocomplete (New), Text Search (New), Nearby Search (New), Place Details (New) and the Google Maps JavaScript API. Search requests use explicit field masks. Requested fields are limited to what the current interface displays, such as place ID, name, address, coordinates, type, rating and review count, price level, open status, phone, website, hours, accessibility options and Google Maps links.
Google place content is retrieved for the current request and is not used to build a permanent ClubLitty copy. ClubLitty may store a Google Place ID as the durable external identifier and synchronization metadata such as retrieval status and last checked time. Place IDs are reviewed for moves or obsolescence at least annually.
ClubLitty venue layer
ClubLitty-owned fields include original descriptions, verified venue-provided descriptions, editorial categories, music, typical crowd, cover guidance, dress and age policies, arrival guidance, parking and transit notes, accessibility notes, amenities, booking contacts, official social links, corrections and claim status.
These fields must include source provenance and moderation status. A venue owner cannot overwrite Google Maps source fields inside the ClubLitty layer.
Live reports
Live reports are time-limited records from verified venues, ClubLitty staff, verified contributors or community members. A displayed report includes its source, update time, verification state, contributor count and expiration. Expired reports are excluded from current results.
When no approved, unexpired report exists, ClubLitty displays: “No verified live vibe update yet.”
No precision theater
ClubLitty does not scrape Popular Times, line length, cover, music, dress codes or live busyness. It does not publish a precise ClubLitty Vibe Score until a documented method and sufficient current evidence exist.
